Overview

About the Molding Cog Arrow-Bi

Unlike standard cog threads cut from the filament, Molding Cog threads are made by a molding-press method, producing flat arrowhead-shaped bi-directional barbs that are the largest and strongest available and that fix tissue with harpoon-shaped notches. This gives a long-term lifting effect of 1 to 5 years (depending on the case) for heavy tissues with 1–2 degrees of ptosis. As a PDO thread, it stimulates neocollagenesis as it is absorbed.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the Molding Cog Thread Arrow-Bi?

A PDO lifting thread with the largest, strongest flat arrowhead bi-directional barbs, made by a molding-press method for long-term lift, supplied 10ea per pack.

How is molding different from a cut cog thread?

Molding threads are made by a molding-press method rather than cutting the filament, producing stronger barbs and a longer-lasting tightening effect.

How long does the effect last?

A long-term lifting effect of 1 to 5 years depending on the case; as a PDO thread, new collagen helps maintain the result. Duration varies by individual.

Where is it applied?

The middle and lower third of the face, neck, chest and for body lifting, by a licensed practitioner.

Is it FDA approved?

NEO Thread is CE Class III and KFDA certified. The PDO raw material is FDA-classified as a Class II medical-device material — a material classification, not product approval.

What needle does it use?

A W-type Cannula, suited to thicker threads.

Who should perform the procedure?

A trained, licensed practitioner; thread lifting is a medical procedure.

Safety

Safety information

This is a sterile, single-use absorbable thread for thread-lifting procedures. Thread lifting is a medical procedure to be performed only by trained, licensed practitioners. NEO Thread products are CE (Medical Device Class III) and KFDA certified; the PDO raw material is classified by the US FDA as a Class II medical-device material. Individual results vary and depend on technique, the patient and the model used. Use aseptic technique; mark insertion points and use local anesthetic per protocol. Bruising, swelling and discomfort may occur for 3–7 days, especially with improper technique. Patients should avoid sauna, swimming pools and excessive physical activity for about 2 weeks. Check dimensions and expiry date before use. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
