What it is
Liztox 100U is a Korean botulinum toxin type A manufactured by Huons Biopharma — the dedicated botulinum subsidiary spun off from Huons Global in April 2021 at their Pangyo facility. Each vial contains 100 units of freeze-dried Clostridium botulinum toxin type A purified via the proprietary BioPure Extraction Process, with human serum albumin and sodium chloride excipients.

Liztox’s defining feature is the BioPure Extraction Process — multi-step chromatography and fine filtration designed to remove accessory proteins and endotoxins, achieving purified neurotoxin. The BioPure process theoretically reduces immunogenicity risk in long-term repeat patients.
How the BioPure Extraction Process improves purity
Huons Biopharma’s BioPure Extraction Process uses multi-step chromatography combined with fine filtration to sequentially remove accessory proteins (non-neurotoxin proteins from the C. botulinum fermentation broth) and endotoxins. Lower inactive protein theoretically reduces the risk of neutralizing antibody formation in patients receiving repeated treatments over years.

BioPure is Huons Biopharma’s proprietary purification methodology — multi-step chromatography combined with fine filtration sequentially removing accessory proteins and endotoxins from the botulinum fermentation broth. The purification is the primary clinical differentiator for Liztox in the Korean market.
Liztox is not FDA-approved in the United States.
Both are leading Korean botulinums but with distinct purification approaches. Liztox uses BioPure extraction; Nabota uses HI-PURE™ technology + vacuum drying. Clinical performance is comparable but the purification approaches differ. Liztox onset is around day 3 with peak at day 14; Nabota onset is 2-4 days with peak at day 7.
Per clinical literature, Liztox duration is 3–5 months — comparable to other Korean botulinums. Onset begins around day 3 post-injection with peak effect at day 14. Liztox must be used within 12 hours of reconstitution (more conservative than the typical 24-hour window for other Korean botulinums).
Standard glabellar protocol per Liztox IFU: dilute 100U with 2.5 mL preservative-free 0.9% saline (4U/0.1 mL). Using a 30G needle, inject 0.1 mL each in 2 sites of corrugator muscle bilaterally + 1 site of procerus muscle = total 20U glabellar dose. Use reconstituted solution within 12 hours at 2–8 °C.
