What it is

Ultra 4 is the densest tier of Allergan’s Hylacross collection — designed for deep nasolabial folds, cheek volume augmentation, chin projection, and lip volumization. The high-density Hylacross gel provides the most structural lift in the Ultra range.

How Hylacross Technology works

Hylacross Technology (cohesive monophasic cross-linked HA). Hylacross is Allergan’s foundational cross-linking process — producing a highly cohesive, smooth monophasic gel with predictable injection flow and excellent tissue integration. Hylacross HA is fully biodegradable, broken down naturally by the body over 9–12 months.

FAQ

How is Ultra 4 different from Voluma (deep-tissue Vycross)?+

Both target deep tissue volume but use different technologies. Ultra 4 (Hylacross) is the densest Ultra-range product, lasting up to 12 months. Voluma (Vycross) is engineered specifically for very deep cheek/temple work with a different HA molecular weight mix (10% high + 90% low MW) and lasts up to 18 months. Practitioners often choose Voluma for premium long-duration cheek work and Ultra 4 for moderate-budget cheek/NLF work.

Where is Juvederm manufactured?+

Juvederm is manufactured by Allergan Aesthetics (an AbbVie subsidiary) at their facility in Haute Savoie, France. This is the original Allergan production site for the global Juvederm range, including the Hylacross-based Ultra collection. CE 0459 Class III medical device certification.

How long does this product last?+

Duration is Up to 12 months depending on injection site, patient metabolism, and lifestyle. Mobile facial zones (lips, perioral) typically resorb faster than static zones (cheek, temple). Individual hyaluronidase activity also influences longevity.

What’s the difference between Hylacross and Vycross technology?+

Both are Allergan-proprietary HA cross-linking technologies. Hylacross (used in the Ultra range) is the foundational process producing a smooth cohesive monophasic gel — best known for predictable injection flow and tissue integration. Vycross (used in Voluma/Volbella/Volift/Volux/Volite) is the newer technology combining low and high molecular weight HA chains for higher cross-linking efficiency, lower HA concentration, and longer duration. Vycross products generally last longer (12–18 months) than Hylacross products (up to 12 months).

Where to buy wholesale and how to verify authenticity?+

Wholesale through MJS Medicals for licensed healthcare professionals. To verify authenticity: (1) Allergan / Juvederm branding on packaging with Haute Savoie France origin marking; (2) CE 0459 mark visible; (3) HA concentration matches 24 mg/mL; (4) batch number with traceability labels included per box; (5) intact tamper-evident sterile seal; (6) French / English language packaging.

Who is qualified to inject?+

Licensed physicians, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and aesthetic practitioners with Juvederm-specific training only. Allergan provides global injector training programs. Buyers self-certify professional status at checkout.

Safety

This product-specific: Deep dermal placement near facial artery branches — vascular vigilance essential. Aspirate before injection; use cannula in danger zones around nasolabial fold, cheek, and chin where deep arterial branches run.

Prescription medical device (CE 0459 Class III). Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to HA, lidocaine, or Gram-positive bacterial proteins; severe allergies / anaphylaxis history; pregnancy / breastfeeding; autoimmune disorders; active local infection; and concurrent anticoagulant therapy. Aspirate before injection; keep hyaluronidase on hand for reversal. Vision abnormalities (rare but serious) have been reported in some Juvederm products — strict avoidance of off-label injection into highly vascular areas (glabella, periorbital, nose) required.
