Why do some doctors prefer using BELOTERO® INTENSE to correct wrinkles?
BELOTERO® INTENSE is an injectable gel made of non-animal hyaluronic acid (NaHA), like many other dermal fillers. However, BELOTERO® INTENSE is made using Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM) technology that makes it highly elastic and mono-phasic. How does BELOTERO® INTENSE treat wrinkles?
Aging skin tends to lose its hyaluronic acid content, and this volume loss reduces support for the top skin layers. The skin becomes looser and wrinkles form, becoming deeper with the passage of time. When you inject BELOTERO® INTENSE into the deep dermis, the hyaluronic acid holds moisture and restores volume to the skin tissue. This gives support back to the skin so that wrinkles and creases appear smoother. The hyaluronic acid in BELOTERO® INTENSE can also stimulate collagen production, restoring strength and elasticity to the skin. With the addition of BELOTERO® INTENSE to the skin tissue, the wrinkles fade and give the skin a smoother texture.
What are the side effects of BELOTERO® INTENSE?
The most common BELOTERO® INTENSE side effects are injection site reactions like pain, tenderness, swelling, itching, discoloration, and redness. These BELOTERO® INTENSE side effects usually resolve spontaneously within a day or two after you inject it into the skin or within a week after you inject it into the lips. There is little risk of lumps or granulomas after a BELOTERO® INTENSE injection. Contraindications of BELOTERO® INTENSE include use in patients with a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid and pregnant or nursing women. BELOTERO® INTENSE is completely biodegradable and will dissipate within the skin tissues gradually. Since BELOTERO® INTENSE is made from bacterial fermentation, not from animal sources, you do not need to administer an allergy test before injecting a patient with BELOTERO® INTENSE.
When are the results of a BELOTERO® INTENSE treatment visible?
When you inject BELOTERO® INTENSE into your patient’s deep dermis using a 27G needle, the hyaluronic acid in the formula immediately holds moisture and restores volume to the skin. This means your patients will get immediate results from their BELOTERO® INTENSE injection that are also long-lasting. BELOTERO® INTENSE lasts for about six to nine months or more, and most patients should repeat their injections twice a year to maintain their smoother skin.
