How Radiesse works
Radiesse is a dual-action regenerative filler. The carrier gel provides immediate, 1:1 volume correction and structural support; as it is gradually resorbed, the CaHA microspheres remain at the site and act as a scaffold that stimulates new collagen and elastin. Calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres — a mineral-like substance also found naturally in the body — act as a scaffold that stimulates new collagen and elastin, then biodegrade and are resorbed over time.
Carboxymethylcellulose gel.
The carboxymethylcellulose carrier gel evenly distributes the microspheres and provides immediate 1:1 volume correction, then gradually dissipates, leaving the CaHA at the injection site.
Prefilled, no reconstitution.
Radiesse is supplied ready to use — no reconstitution required. It can be mixed with lidocaine per the approved protocol for added comfort if desired.
